Best impact at a low cost for your bathroom

If you’re looking for quick and affordable updates for your bathroom, designer Yanic Simard has you covered. With a few inspired ideas, you can bump up the style in your bathroom for very little money.

Yanic’s first suggestion is to think about creating a feature wall. This wall can either be painted a different colour or styled using wallpaper. If you’re thinking of going the wallpaper route, look for vinyl or waterproof wallpaper. Also, be sure to have a 3-4” back-splash behind your sink to protect the wallpaper.

“You know, it doesn’t take much,” Yanic notes. When accessorizing your vanity, there are many simple and budget-friendly accessories on the market. Alternately, look for accessories you already have in your home. Think about adding flowers, such as a classic orchid, to brighten up the space. If you want to create a relaxing, spa-like feel, add candles.

If you have a smaller space, it’s important for your vanity to not only be stylish but also functional. Yanic likes to keep his vanity decorated and functional by having a stylish tray that hosts his cologne bottles.

Lastly, think about changing up your mirror to update the look of your space. There are many lightweight and decorative mirrors available — just make sure you find one appropriate for a humid environment. Ta-dah! Quick and easy bathroom upgrade.
